Let n is the given line.

Take any point a and b on line n.

construct angle BAE=ABF=90°.

With A as the centre and radius equal to 3.8 cm cut AE at C .

With b as the centre and radius equal to 3.8 cm cut FB at D.

Now, join CD to produce the line m.

So m is the line parallel to n at distance of 3.8 cm.
