2)now take compass (☺️with pencil) and take radius more than half the length of ab .

3)taking a and b as centre and the radius given above cut an arc on both sides of ab .

4)the points at which these arcs meet mark as x and y .

5) join x to y .

xy is the required perpendicular bisector of ab.
