Drawing a line 'p' parallel to line 'q':

  • Draw a line q.
  • Mark a point P above line q.
  • Join p and q.
  • This is the transversal.
  • With a suitable radius, draw an arc from q.
  • With same radius and center p draw another arc on left side of transversal.
  • Mark the point of intersection of arc and transversal as R.
  • Copy angle q with compass and draw an arc from R such that it cuts the previous arc at S.
  • Join p to S.
  • p║ q.

Answer:

Follow the given steps below:-

Step-by-step explanation:

i. Draw a line p and take a point X not lying on it. Now

take any set square and place any one side of the set

square forming the right angle along the line p.

ii. Now place the ruler along the other side of the set

square forming the right angle.

iii. Hold the ruler tightly and shift the set square upwards so

that X lies on the arm of the set square which was along p.

iv. Now remove the scale and draw the line along the set square.

Name this line as q. q is the required line parallel to p.
