Solution:

➛ Let A = ( 2, 7 )

➛ Let B = ( 1, 6 )

After drawing the line passing through both the points A and B , and extending it on both the sides so that it meets the coordinates axis, we will see that the line which passes through point A ( 2, 7 ) and B ( 1, 6 ) cuts the x-axis at point D ( -5, 0 ) and it cuts y-axis at point C ( 0, 5 ).

Steps:

  • On a graph,intersecting at origin 0, draw the co-ordinate axes x0x' and y0y'.

  • With proper scale, mark the numbers on the two co-ordinate axis.

Points to be plotted:

  • Starting from the origin 0 moves 2 units along the positive side of the x-axis i.e, to the right of the origin 0.

  • Now after that from here move 7 units parallel to a positive direction of y-axis i.e, upwards of y-axis.

  • Mark a dot at the point reached.

  • Label this as A ( 2, 7 ).

➤ Similarly plot the point B ( 1, 6 )

  • Draw extended line passing through these two points so that it meets both the x-axis and y-axis and then find the coordinates on both the axis.
