Given : A  line PQ of length 5.5 cm , a point X out side

To Find : construct a line RS parallel to PQ

Solution:

Step 1 : Draw a line segment PQ  of length = 5.5 cm

Step 2 : Take a point X

Step 3 : Draw a ray PM passing through X

Step 4 : Using compass width taking P as center draw an arc intersecting PM at A and PQ at B

Step 5  : keeping  compass width same  taking X as center draw an arc intersecting PM at C

Step 6 :  Taking A as center open compass such that it reaches B

Step 7 : keeping same compass width taking C as center drawn an arc intersecting arc drawn in step P at D

Step 8 : Draw  a line RS passing through X & D

RS || PQ

No , we can not draw any other line parallel to PQ which passes through X
