Given : a line l  and a point P out side

To Find : Draw a line passing through P parallel to line l

Solution:

Step 1 :  Draw a line l

Step 2 :  Take a point   Q  on line l

Step 3 : Tale a point P out side l

Step 4 : Draw a ray  QX passing through P

Step 5 : using suitable compass width taking Q as center  draw an arc intersecting  QX at A and line l at B

Step  6 : keeping compass width same taking P as center  draw an arc intersecting  QX at C

Step 7 : Taking A as center take compass width = AB

Step 8 : Using compass width = AB  and taking C as center draw an arc intersecting arc drawn in previous step at D

Step 9 : Draw a line passing through P & D

line is Parallel to line l
