• Draw a line segment of AB.
• Put the compass on the point of A.  
• Draw two arcs on both sides of AB with a radius more than $\bf {\dfrac{1}{2}}$ AB.
• Put compass on the point of B.
• Draw two arcs on both sides of AB having some radius which meets the previous arcs at P & Q.
• Join the Point P with the point Q.
• PQ bisect at the point of M.
