draw ab 10.4 cm
draw ax a line, interest it 4 times with a compass...a1, a2, a3, a4
join a4 to b
measuring the angle at a4 draw a corresponding angle at a3 and join a3 to b' on ab, such that they are parallel
now u'll find that ab'/b'b=3/4

join a4 to b
measuring the angle at a4 draw a corresponding angle at a3 and join a3 to b' on ab, such that they are parallel
now u'll find that ab'/b'b=3/4

1. First draw a line AB measuring 10.4cms
2. With a compass, draw a perpendicular bisector for this line
a. Take a radius approximately more than half of the line
b. Keep the compass on point A and draw arcs on both sides of the line
c. Now keep the compass on point B and draw arcs on both sides of the line such that they intersect the arcs drawn in the step b above
d. Join the 2 intersections points with a line to get a perpendicular bisector.
c. Mark point C on line AB where the bisector cuts segment AB.
d. This will give 1/2 of AB
3. Now draw a perpendicular bisector for segment CB, using steps 2a to 2d above). Name this point D. This will give 2 segments which are 1/4 of AB
4. Segment AD = segment AC + Segment CD
= 1/2 + 1/4
= 3/4th of AB
