Step-by-step explanation:

==========================================

Step 1:

Given data:

AB = 5.5 cm

Ap = 2 / 3 PB.

Step 2:

Let P be a point so that AP = 2 / 3 PB

then AP + PB = AB

Step 3:

Substitute the value of AP in above equation.

2 / 3 PB + PB = 5.5

Step 4:

Evaluate the step 2 data.

5 / 3 PB = 5.5

Step 5:

Find the value of PB by simplifying

PB=3.3cm

AP=2.2cm.
