(i) Draw a line segment AB = 6 cm (ii) With centre A and radius more than 1/2(AB) draw the arcs on each side of AB. (iii) With centre B and same radius draw the arcs on each side of AB, which cuts the previously drawn arcs at X and Y. (iv) Join XY which cuts the line segment AB at O. Thus XY is the perpendicular bisector of AB.
