To Find : divide it in trisection

Solution:

Step 1 : Draw a line segment  AD   = 7.5 cm

Step 2 : draw an acute angle DAX  using protractor

Step 3 : Take 3 points from A on ray AX at equal distance , one by one using compass

Step 4 : Join 3rd point with D

Step  5 : Draw a line parallel to the line drawn in previous step , passing through 2nd point and intersecting AD at C

Step  6 : Draw a line parallel to the line drawn in previous step , passing through 1st point and intersecting AD at B

AB = BC = CD

AB + BC + CD = AD  

=> AB = BC = CD = AD/3 = 7.5/3 = 2.5 cm
