Step 1: Draw a line segment AB = 4.7cm

Step 2: Take a compass with radius more than half of length of AB. then,

Step 3: Taking A as centre, draw an arc above and below the line segment AB

Step 4: Taking B as centre, draw an arc above and below the line of AB as it cut previous arc.

Step 5: Mark X and Y at the point of intersection.

Step 6: Join X and Y.

Step 7: Mark O where perpendicular bisector bisect AB

So, XOY is perpendicular bisector of AB.

Therefore,

  • AO = OB
