we divide it in the ratio 2:3

let these parts be 2y and 3y.

2y+3y=5.5cm

5y=5.5cm

y=5.5/5

y=1.1

2y=1.1*2=2.2cm

3y=1.1*3=3.3cm

length of the parts are 2.2cm and 3.3cm.
