Please consult the picture for construction and calculation is done below,
Let the line segment be PR and Q be a point on that line segment.
PQ:QR = 3:4
Let PQ & QR be 3x and 4x respectively

Total lengths of line segment = 6.3 cm
PQ + QR = 6.3 cm
3x + 4x = 6.3 cm
7x = \frac{63}{10} cm \\ x = \frac{63}{10} cm \times \frac{1}{7} \\ x = \frac{9}{10} cm \\ x = 0.9 \: cm
Hence,
PQ = 3x = 3 × 0.9 cm = 2.7 cm
QR = 4x = 4 × 0.9 cm = 3.6 cm
