We can solve the problem step by step in these way :-

1.Draw a line segment AB of 6cm length

2. Now take 2 cm from A and mark the point as P

3.With P as centre and taking convenient radius, draw 2 arcs such that it cuts AB at X and Y respectively

4. With X as centre and radius more than half of XY, draw 2 arcs above and below AB

5. With Y as centre and radius more than half of XY, draw 2 arcs above and below AB Such that it cut the previous two arcs at M and L respectively.

6. Join ML that passes through point P.Now, MP ⊥ AB
