1. Draw a line segment of 4.8cm and name it as PQ.
2. Now open your compass more than the radius of the line.
3. Put the compass on point P and draw an arc on the top and bottom of the line segment.
4. Follow step 3 by putting compass on point Q and do not change the size of the compass the size of the compass should be same as you open in step 2.
5. Where the arcs meet at a point (let the points be M and N) join them drawing a straight line from point M to N.
6. The line formed MN is the perpendicular bisector of PQ which divides the line segment PQ into 2 halves OP and OQ respectively.
