\dashrightarrow Steps :-

  • First, draw a line segment PQ of 5.8 cm as said in the question.
  • Next, take a compass and keep it's tip on the point P and take the measurement of approximately more than half of the drawn line segment and draw an arc above and also below the line segment.
  • Again, take a compass and keep it's tip on the point Q and draw an arc on top and also one at the bottom. The measurement of compass shouldn't be changed.
  • Now, we have obtained with two points by drawing the arcs. Join those both points.
  • Finally, the perpendicular bisector is constructed.

\dashrightarrow Instruments used :-

  • Ruler :- The ruler should always be in use for construction, because it results in a straight line and the measurements should always be as per to the question.
  • Compass :- The compass is used to draw the arcs by taking the actual measurements. If the measurement will be wrong in compass, the construction may get wrong.
