1. draw a line PQ.

2. Mark a point P on it.(just in middle free hand)

3. Take your compass centre at A and draw 2 arcs to cut line PQ at E and F.

4. Now, by taking radius= EF and centre at E draw an arc above PQ.

5. Do the same by taking centre F.

6. Then you will notice that both arcs intersect each other at O.

7. Join OA.

(A little correction the point near P is point E and the one near Q is F.)
