Answer:

1. Draw a line XY of 7cm and then plot a point A which is outside the line XY.

2. From the point A, draw another line which is perpendicular to XY.

3. Now with A as centre, draw an arc on XY as shown in figure.

4. Now by keeping a point on the arc draw another arc as shown fig. and repeat the procedure from another arc also.

5. Now we will get one intersection point, now draw a line parallel to XY through that intersection point.
