Formation of a real image of burning candle:

• Convex lens is a converging lens.
• Consider a candle placed beyond $C_{1}$. The rays coming from the tip of the candle and travelling parallel to principal axis, pass through focus $F_{2}$ after refraction.
• The ray passing through optic center O is undeviated. These rays converge at a point where the image of the tip of the candle is formed.
• Hence, real, diminished and inverted image is formed between $F_{123}  and C_{2}.$.
