An electrical circuit is a closed path that includes all the components connected to complete the flow of current.

Explanation:

The circuit consists of:

  • Three bulbs where two bulbs B and C are connected in series and bulb A is connected in parallel with the series connection of B and C.
  • A battery which acts as a source of Direct current. Direct current provides uni-directional current.
  • Two plug keys, plug key is a switch which has to be closed so that the circuit completes and current is allowed to flow.
  • Both the plug keys P and Q must be closed for all three bulbs to glow.
  • Plug key P is closed but Q is open, then bulb A is not supplied with current and it does not glow, only bulb B and C glows.
  • Current flow is shown which is conventionally considered to be opposite of charge flow.
