The hairpin model of tRNA is also known as the cloverleaf model of tRNA because of its four arms.
Through this model, one can easily understand the molecular structure of tRNA.
This structure has two ends and three arms. The arms have loops on them. One arm has the T-loop and the other has D-loop. The third arm called the variable arm has an optional loop. Both T-loop and D-loop have a ribosome recognition site in them.
Out of the two ends, one end attaches to amino acids and is known as the amino acid acceptor stem. Another end is known as the DNA arm and consists of three base sequence that pairs with a complementary base sequence in a mRNA.
