Draw a parallelogram ABCD where BC=6cm, CD=4.5cm, and BD,=7.5cm.
Answers
Things to Note -
We know,
In a ||gm opposite sides are equal
∴ AB = CD = 4.5 cm
∴ AD = BC = 6 cm
Steps of Construction -
♦ Draw all the given line segments in one corner of the page i.e. 4.5cm, 6cm, 7.5cm . Draw a rough figure of your diagram to get a better view of your diagram.
♦ Draw a line at the bottom, then take 6cm of line segment with compass in it and make BC.
♦ As we know, that the opposites sides of a ||gm are equal. So take 4.5cm in compass and make an arc of 4.5cm by putting the compass at C. Then, take another line segment of 7.5cm in compass and make an arc of 7.5cm by putting your compass at B. The point at which 4.5cm and 7.5cm will meet, that will be D. So, now we have ΔBCD.
♦ Take 4.5cm in compass and make an arc by putting the compass at B. Take another line segment of 6cm in compass and make another arc by putting your compass at D. The point at which 4.5cm and 6cm will meet, that will become A. Then, ΔABD will form.
♦ After joining all the line-segments, a parallelogram ABCD will form.
Hence, ||gm ABCD is formed.

It is not the only process to form a ||gm, there are more process like that.
