There are three layers that are observed in a burning candle.

Explanation:

Following are the layers that are observed in a burning candle:-

  1. Dark Zone:- It is the innermost zone consisting of unburnt materials.  The air is absent in this reason and it is least hot.
  2. Luminous Zone:- It is the middle zone and yellow in colour. This zone has a moderate supply of air and it is also moderately hot.  The partially burned fuel produces smoke or soot in this zone.
  3. Non-luminous Zone:- It is the outer-most zone and is blue in colour. As this zone has the full supply to air, it shows complete combustion. This zone is the hottest zone of all.
