Xylem: It is the tissue which supplies water and minerals to the plants.It is multidirectional.Through transpiration it supplies water to the plant. Water is transferred due to differentiation in ions between roots and soil(Root pressure ).
Phloem: It is the tissue which supplies food to the plant.It is unidirectional.Through Translocation it supplies food. Food is prepared in the leaves through photosynthesis.
