Answer:

Spiders belong to the insect family and are very good builders of the web. Generally, they have eight legs and have specific characteristic feature of making silky webs.

These webs are used by them to catch their prey. Spiders have a special silk-making organ in them called as Spinnerets. These spinnerets secrete silk-like substance, which when pulled out by the spider forms a like thread like structure.

With the use of this structure, these creatures form a web which is silky and sticky in nature and it mostly consists of proteinaceous substance in them. Mostly the spiders build a circular web, whereas in the case of wild variety of spiders, they build their webs of various shapes which includes:

  1. Spiral orb webs
  2. Tangle webs
  3. Funnel webs
  4. Tubular webs and
  5. Sheet webs
