i) The functional gap two neurons is called synapse.
ii) It helps in transmission of nerve impulses from axon terminals of one neuron to the dendrite of another neuron in the form of an electrical or chemical signal.
iii) They connect like this to transmit nerve impulse from one neuron to another.

The nerve cell is the structural and functional unit of nervous system. Our nervous system consists of more then 100 billion of them, which communicate with each other in a specific manner. Dendrites of one nerve cell connect to the axons of other nerve cell through connections called a synapse.
