To Find : draw a line LMN parallel to PQ, using ruler and compass only.

Solution:

Step  1: Draw  a line PQ using ruler

Step 2 : Mark a point  M outside line PQ

Step 3 : Using Suitable compass width and taking M as center draw arc intersecting line PQ  at X & Y

Step  4 : Using Suitable compass width and taking X as center draw an arc ( not passing through M )

Step 5 : Keeping compass width Same and taking Y as center draw an arc intersecting arc drawn in previous step at Z

Step 6 : draw a line passing through MZ

Step 7 : using suitable compass width and taking M as center draw a semicircle intersecting MZ at A & B

Step 8 : Using suitable compass width and taking A & B as center draw intersecting arc at C

Step 9 : Draw  a line LN passing through M & C
