Given :   a quadrilateral with vertices a(2 2) b(2 -2) c(-2 -2) d(-2 2).

To find : Classify quadrilateral and also find its area

Solution:

a(2 2) b(2 -2) c(-2 -2) d(-2 2)

Slope of AB =  -4/0

Slope of BC =  0/-4 = 0

Slope of CD = 4/0

Slope of AD  =  0/4  = 0

BC || AD

AB || CD

AB ⊥ BC

AB = 4

BC = 4

CD = 4

AD = 4

all sides are equal at right angle to each other

Hence ABCD is a square of side 4

Area  = 4 * 4  =  16  sq  units

Quadrilateral = SQUARE

Area = 16 sq units
