A plane mirror is a mirror that has a flat reflective surface. Light rays that fall on the planar surface of the mirror, have the same angle of reflection and angle of incidence.

Image of an object in front of the plane mirror will appear to be formed behind the planar surface of the mirror. The image is always virtual, erect and of the same shape and size as the object. The focal length of a plane mirror is infinity; and optical power zero.
