CONSTRUCTION OF RIGHT TRIANGLE HAVING HYPOTENUSE OF LENGTH 6.4 cm AND ONE OF THE ACUTE ANGLE 40°:

CALCULATION:

  • Let AC be the hypotenuse, ∠C = 40° and ∠B = 90°.
  • Given AC = 6.4 cm.
  • From angle sum property we have,

              ∠A + ∠B + ∠C = 180°

              ∠A + 90 + 40 = 180

                   ⇒ ∠A = 50°

CONSTRUCTION:

  • Draw a line segment AC = 6.4 cm.
  • Mark a point Y from A at angle 50°.
  • Draw ray AY.
  • Similarly, draw another ray CX from C making an angle 40°.
  • Let the point of intersection of AY and CX be B.
  • ABC is our required right angle.
  • You can verify that ∠ABC = 90°.
