Answer :-

from image we have,

  • ∠ABC = 90°
  • AB = perpendicular = a cm.
  • BC = Base = a cm .
  • AC = Hypotenuse = 11.5 cm .

we know that, in right angled ∆,

→ (perpendicular)² + (base)² = (Hypotenuse)² { By pythagoras theorem .}

so,

→ a² + a² = (11.5)²

→ 2a² = 132.25

→ a² = (132.25/2)

→ a = √(132.25/2)

→ a = 11.5/√2

→ a = (11.5/1.41)

→ a ≈ 8.16 cm .

now, steps of construction of right angled isosceles triangle :-

  1. Draw line segment BC of 8.16 cm length .
  2. At point B , construct a right angle (90°) with the help of protractor .
  3. from B cut an arc of 8.16 cm at point A .
  4. Join AC .
  5. Length of AC will be 11.5 cm , which is hypotenuse of the right angled isosceles triangle .
