hypotenuse (h) = 4 cm

perpendicular (p) = 2.5 cm

let us assume the other side of the triangle is x. Then by pythagoras, we get:-

 {h}^{2}  =  {x}^{2}  +  {p}^{2}

 {4}^{2}  =  {x}^{2}  +  {2.5}^{2}

16 =  {x}^{2}  + 6.25

16 - 6.25 =  {x}^{2}

 {x}^{2}  = 9.75

x =  \sqrt{9.75}

x = 3.1224 \:  \: cm

hence the other side of the triangle is 3.1224 cm.
