Required Answer:-

According to theoram, Tangent and the radius are perpendicular to each other at the point of tangency.

Note:- Point of tangency is the point where the Tangent meets the circle. It is the limit of a secant where the two points coincides.

In the attachment...

The centre of the circle is marked as O and the point of tangency as P. AB is the required tangent.

The angles are:-

  • < POB
  • < OBP
  • < OPB = 90° (Right angle).

Similar theoram (More to know):

  • The tangents drawn from an exterior point to the circle are equal in measure. (length)

  • A chord and tangent form an angle and this angle is same as that of tangent inscribed on the opposite side of the chord.
