Given :

A triangle and a quadrilateral

having two sides in common.

To Find:

Draw a rough sketch.

Solution:

1. Draw any Quadrilateral.

2. Let say PORS.

3. Join any of the diagonal.

4. If PR is joined.

5. Then ∆ PQR & quadrilateral PQRS.

6. PO & QR common side.

[ ✓ Common angle Q. ]

7. if PR is joined.

Then ∆ POR & quadrilateral PQRS.

8. PO & QR common side

[ ✓ Common angle Q. ]

or ∆ PSR &quadrilateral PQRS.

9. PS & RS common side.

[ ✓ Common angle R. ]

10. if QS is joined.

11. Then ∆ PQS & quadrilateral PQRS

12. PO & PS common side

[ ✓ Common angle P ]

or ∆ QRS & quadrilateral PQRS

13. QR & RS common side

[ ✓ Common angle R ]

14. Then ∆ PQS & quadrilateral PQRS

15. PQ & PS common side

[ ✓ Common angle P ]

or ∆ QRS & quadrilateral PQRS.

16. QR & RS common side

[ ✓ Common angle R. ]

It is not possible that there are three

sides common between triangle and

quadrilateral.

Only one angle is possible to common

between rectangle and triangle.
