To draw:

  • Circuit with 3 cells, an electric bulb, ammeter and plugkey in the on mode.

  • Circuit with same components but with two bulbs in parallel and a voltmeter across the combination .

Solution:

Few things to remember before drawing circuit:

  • In the first case, when 3 cells have been mentioned, we will assume that all the three cells have been connected in series with similar polarities.

  • Ammeter (modified galvanometer) will always be connected in series with the circuit.

  • Voltmeter (modified galvanometer) will always be connected in parallel to the circuit across which the potential difference needs to be measured.

  • Always remember to close the circuit by closing the plug-key. Or else , the circuit will remain open.
