Draw a square and construct all its axes of symmetry. Measure the angles between each
pair of successive axes of symmetry. What do you notice? Does the same rule apply for
other regular polygons?

Axes of Symmetry:

The Axes of Symmetry is the line which divides a shape or Geometrical figure into two identical Parts.

For, example Human body has one line of Symmetry, that is if you cut your body into two equal Halves Vertically , the two Parts will be Symmetrical.

Now Coming to Square

It has Four Lines of Symmetry

Two Diagonals ,And one from Middle of Length and other from the middle of Breadth.

Angle between Axes of Symmetry when Diagonal is Line of Symmetry= 45°

Angle between Axes of Symmetry when Line of Symmetry is through the mid point of Length or Breadth =90°

No, Same rule does not apply for other Polygons, as other Polygons have different lines of Symmetry, and angle between lines of Symmetry is Different. For, example take the case of an Equilateral Triangle, the Median is line of Symmetry, and angle through which the median is drawn is divided equally into two equal Parts, that is 30°.

The thing that must be kept in mind , that the point from which line of Symmetry is Drawn is divided into two congruent Angles.
