We know that in square all sides are equal. Diagonals are also equal and perpendicularly bisect each other.

⇒ Draw a line segment AC=9.8cm

⇒ Draw a perpendicular bisector XY meets AC at point O.

⇒ Take O as center with radius 4.9cm and cut off OD and OB.

⇒ Join AB,BC,CD and AD.

∴ ABCD is required square.

Now measure the length of AB.

We get, AB=6.9cm

∴ Measure of sides is 6.9cm
