1919--Rowlatt Act was passed and Jaillaianwaala Bagh massacre took place.

1921--Khilafat and Non-Cooperation Movement were launched against British.

1927--Simon Commission visited India.

1929--Lahore session of Congress where the Resolution of Complete independence was passed.

1930-32--Civil Disobedience Movement was started and Three Round Table Conferences were held.

1931--Bhagat Singh was hanged.

1935--Govt. of India Act was passed.

1937--Elections in provinces were held.

1939--World War II broke out and Congress ministers resigned.

1940--Lahore session of Muslim League held where resolution for separate state for Muslims was passed.

1942--Quite India Movement was started and Cripps Mission visited India.

1945--World War II ended and Labour party formed government in Britain.

1947--P.M Atlee declared that British would quite India by June 1948. Mountbatten Plan and declaration of Independence was passed.

15th August 1947--India got Independence but at the cost of partition.
