Draw a trapezium ABCD, in which AB||CD, AB = 6.8 cm, BC = 5.2 cm, AD = 6.5 cm and 2B = 60°.

SOLUTION

Steps of Construction:

1) Draw a line segment AB = 6.8 cm

2) With B as centre, draw a ray BX such that ∠ABX = 60°.

3) Again with B as centre and radius BC = 5.2 cm draw an arc on ray BX. Mark the intersection point as C

4) With C as centre, draw a ray CY such that ∠BCY = 120°

5) Next with A as centre and radius, AD = 6.5 cm draw an arc such that it intersects the ray CY. Mark the intersection point as D.

6) Join A, D.

Thus ABCD is the required trapezium.
