Draw a triangle and construct three medians of the triangle.
Answers
construction of three medians of the triangle.
- First of all, draw any of the triangles with any length.
- Then bisect every side of the triangle with the compass.
- Then join all the points on the sides of the triangle with the opposite vertex of the triangle the obtained lines are the median of the triangle.
Consider the attached image to get the needed diagram.
Given : a triangle
To find : construct three medians of the triangle.
Solution:
Step 1 : Draw a line segment AB of any length
Step 2 : Using suitable compass width taking A as center draw an arc
Step 3 : Using suitable compass width taking B as center draw an arc intersecting arc drawn in previous step at C
Step 4 : join AC & BC
Step 5 : Draw perpendicular bisector of AB
- Using suitable compass width taking A as center draw arcs on both sides of AB
- Keeping compass width same taking B as center draw arcs on both sides of AB intersecting arcs drawn in previous step at M & N
- join M & N intersecting AB at F
Step 6 : Join CF
CF is median of AB
Similarly Draw perpendicular bisector of BC , intersecting BC at D & join AD
Similarly Draw perpendicular bisector of AC , intersecting AC at E & join BE
AD , BE & CF are medians
