Given :  a triangle of sides 5cm, 6cm and 7cm.

To find : Draw triangle

Solution:

a triangle of sides 5cm, 6cm and 7cm.

Step 1 :  Draw a line AB = 7 cm

Step 2 :  Using compass width = 5 cm & taking A as  center draw an arc .

Step 3 : Using compass width = 6 cm & taking AB as  center draw an arc such that it intersect arc drawn in previous step at C

Step 4 : Join AC & BC

ΔABC is constructed with sides 5cm, 6cm and 7cm.

an isosceles triangle with the same area and one side 7cm

Step 1 :  Draw a perpendicular bisector AB

( Steps to draw perpendicular bisector

Using suitable compass with Taking A & B as center draw intersecting arcs at M & N on both sides of AB.

Join AB and extend )

Step 2 : Draw a line parallel to AB passing though C & intersecting perpendicular bisector at D

Step 3 : Join AD & BD

ΔABD is isosceles with one  sides 7cm and area equal to triangle with sides 5cm, 6cm and 7cm
