Draw a Venn diagram on the differences between the cell organelles of plant and animal cell.

  • A plant cell has a big, single vacuole that serves as storage space and helps keep the cell in shape. Animal cells, on the other hand, have numerous, smaller vacuoles. Both a cell wall and a cell membrane are present in plant cells. In plants, the cell membrane is encased by the cell wall.
  • Chloroplasts. As autotrophs, plants use chloroplasts, a type of cell organelle, to carry out the process of photosynthesis, which allows them to extract energy from sunlight. Chloroplasts are not found in animal cells. Cellular respiration is the mechanism through which food (glucose) is converted into energy in animal cells.
  • Animal cells contain centrosomes and lysosomes, whereas plant cells do not. Animal cells' lysosomes serve as "trash disposal," whereas plant cells' vacuoles serve the same purpose. The nucleus, cell membrane (known as the plasma membrane in animals), endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria, and cytoplasm are just a few of the common organelles found in both plant and animal cells.
