The male gamete or sperm is a smaller, mobile cell that meets up with the much larger and less mobile female gamete (egg or ovum ) Both male and female gametes are produced by Meiosis having haploid chromosomes so that when they unite, the resultant zygote or organism will have deploid chromosomes to be maintained.

Function of Male Gamete

Explanation:

  • They are also called to as sex cells
  • Male gametes are called sperm and Female gametes are called ova or egg cells
  • Gametes are haploid cells, and every cell only just one duplicate of every chromosome
  • These conceptive cells are created through a sort of cell division called meiosis
  • The two most normal gametes are sperm and ova
  • These two haploid cells can experience inner or outside treatment and can vary from one another in size, structure, and capacity
  • A few animal varieties produce both sperm and ova within the same organism
