Drawn a line perpendicular to line segment AB.

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1 : Draw a Ray  AX

Step 2 : Using compass width = 9.7 cm taking A as center , intersect ray AX at B

AB = 9.7 cm

Step 3 : Taking Compass width = 3.5 cm and taking A as senter intersect line segment AB  at P

AP = 3.5 cm

Step 4 : Taking Suitable width  of compass and taking P as center , draw arcs intersecting AB at M & N

Step 5 : Increasing compass width slightly  taking M as center Draw an arc

Step 6 : keeping compass width same as in step 5 and taking N as center draw an arc intersecting the arc drawn in step 5 at O

Step 7 : join PO & draw a Ray PY

PY ⊥ AB
