Given : an isosceles right-angled triangle whose hypotenuse is 5.8 cm.

To Find : Construct

Solution:

Step 1 :  Draw  a line segment AB = 5.8 cm

Step 2 :  Using suitable compass width and taking A as center draw arcs on both sides of AB

Step 3 : Keeping compass width same and taking B as center draw arcs such that it intersects arc draw in previous step at M & N

Step 4 : Draw a line passing through M , N and intersecting AB at O

Step 5 : Using compass width = OA or OB and taking O as center  , draw an arc intersecting line drawn in previous step at C

Step 6 : Join AB

Step  7 : Join AC
