Process of tissue culture:

Plants are grown in test tubes.

A small part of the plant is allowed to grow on a nutrient medium containing all nutrients and hormones necessary for the plant growth.

The cells of this small part divide and form mass of cells called the callus.

Callus develops plantlets.

The plantlets are then transferred into the soil to grow as new individuals.

Using tissue culture, many plants can be grown from one parent under disease-free condition. This technique is commonly used for ornamental plants.
