First, \angle SMP and \angle RMP are drawn with a common arm MP as shown in the image.

Then, two points A and B are taken and drawn in the interior of \angle SMP and \angle RMP respectively.  

The points A and B and then joined to form a line segment.  

On a close analysis we can see that the line segment AB is actually in the interior of the bigger \angle SPR.
