The main components of the computer are:

• CPU - Control Processing Unit - responsible for the processing of all the instructions which are given by the user to the computer. It is also called as the brain or heart of the computer.
• CU - Control Unit - the part of CPU that controls the operations or activities performed inside the computer system.
• ALU - Arithmetic and Logic Unit - the part of CPU that performs different types of operations such arithmetic and logical operations.
• MU - Memory Unit - Unit used to store the operations for future use. There are two types of memory units - primary and secondary.
• I/P - Input - the user provides the set of instructions or instructions to the computer system. Some examples are keyboard, mouse, scanner.
• O/P - Output - produces or generates the desired result according to the provided input. Some examples are printer, monitor screen, projector.
