Answer:

Bholi qas a girl livjng in a small village with her parents . She was named so because she was mentally unstable and always stammered while speaking. She was ill treated by her parents .

Bholi's parents did not take care of Bholi at all. They were only concerned to get her married as soon as possible , though they beleived that she would not get a groom because of the pock marks on her face .

Bishamber was a 40 year old man who was going to marry Bholi . He was very greedy and selfish . When he saw the pock marks on Bholi's face he asked for dowry which shows the height if his greediness.

Character sketches of the following -

Bholi - Bholi was an innocent but sensitive young lady. She unfortunately had small pox and a brain injury. She endured suffering for the rest of her life. Till the age of five, she was unable to talk. She began to talk with a stutter. Her entire body had been severely damaged by the smallpox attack, which left behind black pock marks. She was a diligent and committed student. She developed into a bold, independent, and self-assured young woman with the help of her teacher. She took attempts to advance herself after witnessing her teacher's confidence in her ability. Her self-assured and courageous decision to speak out against a social ill demonstrated her genuine level of education.

Bholi's parents - The parents of Bholi were rather typical people. Ramlal, her father, served as his village's Numberdar. Ramlal was a very successful man with a very conventional viewpoint. He had seven children—three sons and four daughters—and was pretty wealthy. He sent his son to the city for higher study, but when his daughters were still very small, he made arrangements for them. He was quite concerned about Bholi due of her appearance and stammer. Ramlal was forced by the Tehsildar to send Bholi to school. Ramlal's wife had very outdated ideas and believed that if the daughters were let to attend school, no one would want to marry them.

Bishamber - Bholi needed particular attention, but neither of her parents provided it because they only cared about getting her married. They accepted the marriage proposal without asking Bholi when it arrived from Bishamber, a widower and several years older than Bholi.
